# C++ Quick Start

Include RelationshipComponent.h. Resolve the Actor’s URelationshipComponent, then call SetRelationshipValue(TargetSubjectId, MetricId, Value) or AddRelationshipValue(TargetSubjectId, MetricId, Delta). Read with GetRelationshipValue. The component remains the authority; the subsystem handles registration and snapshots.

Runtime checks

RelationshipDirectorProbabilityBridge is retired. Optional Probability-backed checks use DirectorBridge Relationship.Probability. Relationship remains independent when DirectorBridge and Probability Director are absent. See Integrations.

During PIE/SIE open Tools → Director Suite → Runtime Inspectors → Relationship Director Runtime Inspector to inspect live values; this surface is strictly read-only. Use Tools → Director Suite → Runtime Controls → Relationship Director Runtime Controls to apply SetRelationshipValue, AddRelationshipValue, and reset operations against the selected live authority. Advanced Debug Override is available there only and still enforces 0..100, valid directional identities, and structural invariants. The journal is not persistence.
