Probability Director
Editorial draft. This documentation is adapted from plugin source at Perforce CL495. Public release availability for version 1.1.5 and the Fab listing still need confirmation.
Probability Director provides a Game Instance-scoped runtime for deterministic and secure probability streams, exact probability analysis, dice and distribution resolution, persistence, diagnostics, and isolated Editor experiments.
Start here
Section titled “Start here”- Compatibility — source validation evidence and its scope.
- Getting Started — choose the Blueprint or C++ quickstart.
- Blueprint quickstart — register a named stream and make a first decision.
- C++ quickstart — obtain the current Game Instance subsystem and check operation results.
- Streams and Decision Keys — choose Sequential or Keyed behavior and design stable identities.
Concepts and systems
Section titled “Concepts and systems”- Architecture — ownership, determinism, persistence, and the isolated Lab boundary.
- Dice, Probability, and Distributions — exact analysis and runtime resolution.
- Data Assets — reusable numeric Resolution Rules.
- Persistence and anti-save-scumming guidance — separate plugin state from the game’s own save data.
Build a feature
Section titled “Build a feature”- Persistent Treasure Chest — use a stable chest identity and explicit Keyed decisions.
- API Reference — supported Blueprint and C++ interfaces.
- Editor Tools and Runtime Inspector — inspect the actual runtime without turning diagnostics into gameplay state.
- Troubleshooting — diagnose common stream, restore, and status issues.
