Probability Director Editor Tools
Open all three tools through the shared Editor menu. Director Suite remains available from the normal menu bar while the Level Editor, Blueprint Editor, supported asset editors, and Probability Director tabs are active.
Probability Director Runtime Inspector
Section titled “Probability Director Runtime Inspector”Path: Tools → Director Suite → Runtime Inspectors → Probability Director Runtime Inspector
Role: Read-only live observation.
Select a live Runtime Context to inspect registered streams, recent decisions, diagnostic events, and warnings. Search, filters, selected-detail views, copy, and export affect the Inspector presentation or files only. Freeze View retains a pointer-free snapshot of the visible context; Resume Live refreshes it.
The Inspector does not change gameplay state, Probability subsystem state, diagnostic history, diagnostic settings, stream configuration, random state, or persistence. Use Open Runtime Controls to navigate to the separate mutating surface; opening it has no runtime effect.
Probability Director Runtime Controls
Section titled “Probability Director Runtime Controls”Path: Tools → Director Suite → Runtime Controls → Probability Director Runtime Controls
Role: Intentional mutation of live diagnostic/settings state and live stream operations.
Diagnostic Controls
Section titled “Diagnostic Controls”- Record Successful Operations changes whether future successful operations are captured in the selected context’s bounded diagnostics. It does not alter draws, stream state, or existing events.
- Clear Diagnostics removes retained diagnostic events and warnings for the selected context. It does not clear or rewind Probability streams and does not change future outcomes.
Live Stream Probe
Section titled “Live Stream Probe”The Enable Live Stream Probe gate is unchecked by default and applies only to the current Editor session. Select a live Runtime Context and registered stream, then explicitly enable the gate before using Sample Outcome, Sample Distribution, Roll Dice, or Start Continuous. One-shot probes use the displayed probe defaults: a six-trial Binomial experiment at p = 1/2, the default Normal distribution, or a 2d6 roll. Continuous sampling uses the selected operation at the rate control (1–100 samples or rolls per second; default 10).
A Sequential probe consumes values from the selected live Sequential stream and can change future gameplay outcomes. Continuous Sequential sampling can consume many future values; it starts only after the gate is enabled and stops when Stop is pressed or the Controls tab closes.
Keyed probes execute through the selected live Probability subsystem and may add diagnostic observations, but they do not advance the Sequential cursor. They remain in Runtime Controls because they operate against the live subsystem. The tool reports operation status and identifies the selected context/stream.
Probability Director Lab
Section titled “Probability Director Lab”Path: Tools → Director Suite → Analysis & Diagnostics → Probability Director Lab
Role: Isolated experimentation and simulation.
The Lab evaluates probability, dice, distributions, Monte Carlo, RNG health, stream-engine experiments, and names using a Lab-owned ephemeral Sequential stream or other isolated experiment engines. Sample Outcome, Sample Distribution, Roll Dice, and continuous Lab sampling use only that isolated experiment state. They do not invoke live Sequential or Keyed operations, change diagnostic settings, or modify gameplay Probability state. The Lab intentionally has no selectable live gameplay stream.
Icons and tabs
Section titled “Icons and tabs”The menu item and its matching tab use the same Probability product glyph with a role accent: Runtime Inspector cyan #4FB6E9, Runtime Controls amber #F2A93B, and Lab violet #A78BFA.
