Character State owns semantic snapshots only. Use CapturePersistenceSnapshot, ValidatePersistenceSnapshot, and RestorePersistenceSnapshot; the core does not own files, slots, or disk I/O. SchemaVersion is 1.

Capture includes persistent live and dormant records in deterministic order. Temporary characters are excluded. Restore validates the complete snapshot before mutation and is transactional. It is silent: no Changed or ThresholdCrossed gameplay notifications are generated.

Authority is saved/restored snapshot > dormant state > Profile Default. A missing live persistent record in an explicit valid snapshot resets the live component to its Profile Default. An explicit valid empty snapshot is authoritative and applies that same omission behavior. Immutable Current values can be restored. DisplayName is presentation metadata and is absent from persistence identity and snapshot semantics.
