During PIE/SIE, open Tools → Director Suite → Runtime Inspectors → Character State Runtime Inspector to observe state; this surface is strictly read-only. To change live state, open Tools → Director Suite → Runtime Controls → Character State Runtime Controls, select the context and component, choose a typed operation, provide its value, and apply. Existing Allow Runtime Changes, type, range, identity, lifecycle, and threshold checks remain in force.
