Probability Director Licensing
This page is a developer-friendly summary of how Probability Director is licensed when acquired through Fab. It is not a substitute for the Fab End User License Agreement (Fab EULA).
Per-seat code-plugin license
Section titled “Per-seat code-plugin license”Probability Director is a code plugin and follows Fab’s per-seat licensing rule for code plugins.
A paid seat is required for each individual who uses Probability Director.
Examples:
- One developer using the plugin: one seat.
- Five developers using the plugin: five seats.
- A contractor who uses the plugin as part of the project: that user must be covered by a seat.
- A teammate who never uses the plugin does not need a seat merely because they work at the same company.
Private source sharing with employees, affiliates, or contractors is permitted only as allowed by the Fab EULA and must not result in more users using the plugin than the number of paid seats.
Personal and Professional pricing tiers
Section titled “Personal and Professional pricing tiers”Fab’s Personal and Professional tiers use different eligibility thresholds, but the Fab Standard License grants the same scope of usage rights under both tiers.
The buyer is responsible for selecting the appropriate Fab pricing tier at the time of acquisition according to Fab’s current rules.
Fab currently states that a buyer does not need to upgrade an existing acquisition merely because they later cross the revenue threshold.
Commercial use
Section titled “Commercial use”Subject to the Fab EULA, Probability Director may be used in commercial and non-commercial projects.
Licensed users may modify and adapt the plugin for use in their projects.
Projects incorporating Probability Director may be distributed commercially as allowed by the Fab EULA and applicable Unreal Engine terms.
Source-code modifications
Section titled “Source-code modifications”A licensed user may modify the supplied Probability Director source for project use as permitted by the Fab EULA.
Those modifications do not transfer ownership of the original Probability Director code.
Do not publish or redistribute Probability Director, modified or unmodified, as a standalone competing or substitute plugin unless expressly permitted by the controlling license terms.
Redistribution
Section titled “Redistribution”Probability Director itself may not be resold or redistributed on a standalone basis except as permitted by the Fab EULA.
In particular, purchasing one seat does not grant permission to make the plugin available to an unlimited development team.
Attribution
Section titled “Attribution”The Fab Standard License does not require customers to credit the Fab publisher merely for using the acquired product.
Third-party notices must still be preserved where required by their respective licenses.
Ownership
Section titled “Ownership”TuxedoCat Studio retains ownership of the first-party Probability Director software.
Customers retain ownership of their own games, applications, content, and other project work, subject to the licenses applicable to Probability Director and any other incorporated software or assets.
Third-party components
Section titled “Third-party components”Probability Director includes LibSodium under the ISC License.

Controlling terms
Section titled “Controlling terms”The Fab EULA and applicable Fab terms in effect for the acquisition are the controlling license terms for copies obtained through Fab.
If this summary differs from the controlling Fab terms, the controlling Fab terms govern.
